Information We Collect

When you create a Synap Web account, we collect your email address, name, and password hash. We also collect usage data such as feature usage patterns and session metadata to improve the service. We do not collect or access the content of your minds.

How We Store Your Data

Synap Web data is stored in PostgreSQL databases hosted on Neon. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Each team's data is isolated through Row-Level Security (RLS) policies.

Local Data (Synap Desktop)

Synap Desktop stores all mind data locally on your filesystem. We do not sync, access, or collect any data from your local installation. Your minds, files, and AI conversations remain entirely on your machine.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

Third-Party Services

We integrate with Stripe for payment processing, Anthropic for AI capabilities (via your own Claude subscription), and optional MCP-compatible tools you choose to connect. Each third-party service has its own privacy policy.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can export your data or close your account from the settings page. For GDPR requests, contact us at privacy@synap.com.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
